Updates will resume on April 25. Until then, head over to the home page or the Proof God Hates Me site and enjoy my other content.
If you are (or were) a frequent visitor to the main site, Proof God Hates Me, or Pandemonium, you will have noticed that updates have been sparse as of late. I wish I could tell you that the reason behind this has been that I’ve been working on some big project, but that is not the case. I could get into all the reasons why I haven’t been updating, but that’s not the purpose of this site. That’s what my lace-embroidered My Little Pony diary is for.
What it all boils down to is this, maintaining three WordPress sites and update two webcomics three times a week is too much work and I’m burned out. In all the reviews of my site, the one common thread (other than grammatical errors) has been that I attempt to put out a lot of content, too much for someone who has to work a full time job on top of webcomicking. I’ve come to the conclusion that if I want to continue making webcomics, I will need to drastically cut back on what I attempt to do. So, here are the changes that you will notice in the coming days:
- The Pandemonium site will no longer be updated. New Pandemonium comics will be posted only on the Jorge’s Home mainpage.
- I will only work on one webcomic project at a time. First, I’m going to complete PGHM up to comic 100 to complete the second volume. After that, I’ll return to Pandemonium to finish chapter 1.
- There will no longer be separate voting links for PGHM and Pandemonium.
- PGHM will only update once weekly (which I know is actually going to be increasing production, but the point here is to reduce how overwhelmed I feel so that I can actually continue to produce content).
- PGHM Commentary will no longer be available to download via iTunes by the end of the month.
The podcast will continue on without much change. You may not have been able to tell, but we really don’t put much effort into it. As far as the podcast is concerned, we’re actually increasing production there. The difference is that sitting around shooting the breeze or capturing video game contests is a lot easier and less time consuming than writing, penciling, inking, coloring, and lettering a webcomic.
For anybody who has been continually visiting the site, thank you so much for bearing with me as I desperately try to figure out what I’m going to do with my life. Jorge’s Home and the comics that I produce are not dead. I’m in the middle of a career change attempt, and it’s requiring a great deal of my time. As a reward (or punishment) for your patience, there’s a new episode of the podcast up for your listening pleasure. If you stream or download the episode here, you’ll only be getting the MP3 version. If you download via iTunes you’ll get the new and improved enhanced podcast version. Hope you enjoy it!
You can now follow Pandemonium on inkOUTBREAK. If you are so inclined. It took me way too long to find this haven of webcomics, and if you don’t know about it and like webcomics you should head over there and create an account.
So, I thought it was high time that Jorge’s Home got a YouTube channel, so now we have. Above is the channel’s first official video (not including the Empire Music refugees I that posted from my previous YouTube channel). Granted this speed drawing isn’t as spectacular as some of the other ones out there done by talented artists, however this video gives a good idea of what the creative process of coloring a page of Pandemonium is like. So, I hope you enjoy it.
Happy Holidays everyone! In this episode of the podcast, Rowdy and I battle over who has the most knowledge of the single most important thing in the history of the universe: Star Wars. Check it out!
