FAQ

Q: Do you not know how to spell "George"?
A: I am actually literate. "George" is the English spelling and is pronounced j-o-r-j. "Jorge" is the Spanish spelling and is pronounced h-o-r-h-a.

Q: Are you Hispanic?
A: No, my name is actually George, but Jorge is a nickname I picked up in college that has stuck within certain circles.

Q: What is your website supposed to be?
A: As I mentioned earlier, I don't know what it is going to be. I took a basic HTML class in college and wanted to see if I remembered anything. I am currently publishing two webcomics called Proof God Hates Me and Pandemonium. I formerly hosted a podcast called Empire Music. This website is basically my creative outlet
. Whatever strikes my fancy gets put on the site.

Q: Will you ever ask me to buy something?
A: The content of the website is free and will stay that way.
If you want to buy prints of Proof God Hates Me or Pandemonium you can find them on Deviant Art. The early strips are only offered in small sizes because I didn't understand resolution restrictions at the time. Eventually I'll publish compilations of my webcomic. Once that happens, I'll let you know where they can be purchased.

Q: How can I get in touch with you?
A:
Check the Contact section.

Q: What is Proof God Hates Me?
A: PGHM is four-panel format comic strip about a man named Jorge.

Q: Is the main character from PGHM you?
A: Yes and no. The comic is loosely based on my life, but events have been embellished for comic effect. For instance, I am not currently in contact with God in any way. I am not Phil Collins.

Q: Does your portrayal of God mean that you're an atheist or worship Satan?
A: I think God has a sense of humor. I classify myself as agnostic. If you don't know what that means, look it up. If you think you know what that means, look it up anyway just to be sure.

Q: Why did you change the format of PGHM from hand to computer-colored?
A: I am using PGHM as an opportunity to learn how to use Photoshop. As you can probably tell, I'm a novice. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Q: How often do you update PGHM?
A: There is no set production schedule. I try to post two comics a week.

Q: What is Pandemonium?
A: Pandemonium is a graphic novel I am working on. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows the travels of a man named Redd. I am using the title in the sense that Milton used it in Paradise Lost. The pages are formated so they can be resized to standard comic book size.

Q: Why does Pandemomium look so much different from PGHM?
A: The images of Pandemonium are completely hand-crafted. They are combinations of pencil, ink, watercolor, and charcoal. Photoshop is only used to crop images, for dialogue, and for background color.

Q: What is Empire Music?
A: Empire Music was an attempt to create a monthly podcast highlighting bands from Upstate New York. Only four episodes were created in the summer and fall of 2009.

Q: Why did you discontinue the Empire Music podcast?
A: There were several reasons that I discontinued the podcast. First, I was living in Charlotte, NC at the time and it was hard to network with Upstate New York bands at that distance. Second, I started a job as a teacher and I was not able to spare the time to produce new episodes. Third, bands were hesitant to submit their music. The first three bands were friends, or friends of friends, which made the process simple. The fourth band was extremely cooperative, but the process of asking bands to let me use their music was too time consuming.

Q: Is there any chance Empire Music will be resurrected?
A: I enjoyed the process. I am currently planning a move back to Upstate New York, so if I find that I can handle the process then who knows? Until then, all four episodes will remain available.
