January 21, 2010 - Call the ACLU!

I'm on a roll. Three in one week! It helps that I work really fast and have no artistic integrity. Also, if my boss ever sees this comic, I'll probably be fired from my real job. That's OK, because like all the comics in the series, this is loosely based on a true story.

January 19, 2010 - Holy updates, batman!

Told you I actually wrote other scripts. I decided to forsake my day job and spend my entire night putting a new comic together. Strip 6 of Proof God Hates Me is now available. But, I want to say in case this one totally sucks, I was way drunk when I put it together. Three White Russians. Woot.

January 18, 2010 - Introducing Rowdy

So I had a sudden burst of inspiration and wrote scripts for PGHM up to issue 12. Now I just have to follow through and actually draw them. At least I got one done. Check out strip 5 of Proof God Hates Me.

December 8, 2009 - EM episode 4 and Divine Wrath

I've finally gotten around to updating Empire Music. This episode highlights Rochester's The Sunstreak. Check it out at the Empire Music home page in the Navigation column.

Back in October, I was participating in an Artist Fight sponsored by Divine Wrath, a webcomic produced by a Johnny Rigsbee, a friend whose artistic talents leave me in awe. Check out his comic. Anyway, I wasn't able to finish and had to pull out because I made the mistake of taking a new teaching position. The frames that I finished are posted below.

November 27, 2009 - On Teaching

So, I've been away for a while. Sorry about that. Sometime in the month of September I confirmed to everyone that I would be moving back to New York State. Well, plans changed. I got a teaching position in North Carolina, which is preventing me from going back to my favorite state in the union. It also sucks away almost all of my time, making running a podcast and drawing a webcomic nearly impossible. Thankfully, teaching comes with breaks and I was able to throw together a new installment of "Proof God Hates Me". It's appropriate given my current job situation. The second frame has to do with my feelings on people who call everything "gay". The text in frames two and three are real quotes I have taken from the classroom.

Update: Second comic up because instead of falling victim to the Black Friday hype, I decided to do some work. He Looks Like Dumbledore, Too

September 24, 2009 - Weekdays

Whoa! More than one update in a week! Craziness.

Those who know me know that I have encountered a great deal of strife in my career as an educator. By strife I mean being run out of every district in which I've worked by pitchfork and torch bearing mobs. Late in 2007 I wrote a song expressing my frustrations with my career. I entitled the song "Weekdays" and coined the band that produced it (me) as "The Wayward Twentysomethings". Given my current job situation, I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and I've decided to share it with the five people who frequent my website. I recorded and altered the pitch of my voice using Audacity and created the music track with Mario Paint. Yep, Mario Paint. I hope you enjoy it.

P.S. I do not condone the use of violence against former employers. I'm not that kind of crazy.

Yet.

September 22, 2009 - Proof God Hates Me

So, I've decided not to make as many changes to the Empire Music home page as I planned, mostly out of sheer laziness. My excuse it that since most people who visit the site currently do so for EM it would not be right to force them to navigate away. But, I did upload some stuff from my recent trip to see fun. in Rochester (I'm spelling "fun." the way the band prefers it, even though it makes the English major in me want to throw things). I have the original recordings that I took during the concert on my YouTube channel, EmpireMusic1234. The quality is low, which is why I did not share them here.

Speaking of things I will mention here, I've named my unnamed webcomic and posted the second installment. Check out Proof God Hates Me.

Less than a week until I'm back in New York. Updates will be sparse until I get settled.

September 11, 2009 - Comic

Couple of things. First, I'm going a trip later today. As it is musically related, it will be visually documented and posted in Empire Music. If I make any videos I'll post them in my new YouTube channel.

Speaking of Empire Music, I'm going to take all the news off the EM main page. News for the entire site will only be available here on JH main page. The EM main page will be replaced with the content from the Episode Guide. The Episode Guide will be replaced with a Mission page. The mission is top secret. Your computer will explode in 10, 9, 8....

Now that that is out of the way (yes, my use of "that that" is correct), onto the business of this entry's title. A few days ago on Twitter, I asked for input on whether or not I should make a web comic. No one responded, which means no one objected. Click below to see the first installment of my new, untitled web comic, which features a secret special guest.

August 27, 2009 - New Banner

Not much to report. I changed the banner on the page today. This is a cropped photo that I took the day that I left Upstate New York. As I reflect, I see this as a warning that I should not have left the state. You know what they say about hindsight.

There have been some updates to the venue page in Empire Music. Check the links to see them.

July 21, 2009 - News Type Thing

Episode 2 of Empire Music is up. It's not showing up in the iTunes Store yet, but it downloaded into my podcasts. Check out EM for details.

As for me, I'm going through some life changes, so right now the only online project that's up and running is Empire Music. I have plans for some other stuff, but until I can get that pesky job thing taken care of new projects will be slow in coming. I'll be loud and proud when something pops up.

July 11, 2009 - Empire Music on iTunes

Empire Music is available for download on iTunes. Check out it out for the first episode on Shelflyfe.

Also, check out the updates made to Empire Music and the Links page. They may be superficial to the untrained eye, but I'm untrained and I like them.

July 9, 2009 - Twitter and More Important Things

If you haven't figured it out by scrolling to the bottom of the page and seeing the flash widget at the bottom you can follow me on Twitter. If you're into that thing. Whatever. ... I like me.

But, in more interesting news, the first episode of Empire Music is available for download. Check out Empire Music for details.

July 6, 2009 - Empire Music

Check out the "Empire" link in the navigation section to see my first web project. Empire Music is a podcast that will be produced bi-weekly once it is up and running. It will showcase the talents of Upstate New York musicians. Also, I put together a link page with a few banners that can be used by anyone who wants to connect to the site.

July 5, 2009 - Welcome to Jorge's Home!

Thank you for visiting the object of my vast boredom. I am a person who gets bored very easily, and thus have picked up many hobbies. Among these hobbies are drawing comics, creating podcasts, writing, teaching (which is really more my career than a hobby), bicycling, and lighting abandoned buildings on fire.

I was being sarcastic about one of my interests.

I created this website early in the morning on July 5 in a fit of boredom. To help explain any questions you may have I have created the following FAQ.

Q: Do you not know how to spell "George"?
A: I am actually literate. "George" is the English spelling and is pronounced j-o-r-j. "Jorge" is the Spanish spelling and is pronounced h-o-r-h-a.

Q: Are you Hispanic?
A: No, my name is actually George, but Jorge is a nickname I picked up in college that has stuck within certain circles.

Q: What is your website supposed to be?
A: As I mentioned earlier, I don't know what it is going to be. I took a basic HTML class in college and wanted to see if I remembered anything. I'm considering publishing a webcomic or a podcast, writing a blog, or just creating an online portfolio for my teaching career. Right now, I'm just playing.

Q: Why should I keep coming back if your website doesn't have a purpose?
A: Most likely you are here because you know me and I begged you to see my website. I'll probably beg you to check my updates by assailing your Facebook and Twitter pages until you submit. Until I have something interesting posted I will not feel hurt if you do not visit daily.

Q: Will you ever ask me to buy something?
A: If I can figure out how to make money off the Internet, you bet your sweet ass I'm going to ask for money. Lucky for you, I'm kind of lazy and haven't figured out how to make money off anything.

Q: How can I get in touch with you?
A: Smoke signals. If that doesn't work, try this.

That's all for now. If anything interesting happens, I'll let you know.
